About Me

I usually am not good at writing good things about myself. Maybe that is just because I find it rather shameless. However, someone has to do it right? So that you guys can get to know me better. I guess I have to do it myself. Hahah!

First and foremost, I go by many names such as Faizal, Zali and some other names that people pick up (i.e. Thiago). I turn a year older every 16th January. I’m an undergraduate at SIM University, doing my Bachelor in Communications. Designing and Music is my passion. You can say that I am quite the artsy-fartsy person. I believe that everybody has a purpose in this world. It is a matter of embracing it and letting it take you wherever it leads you too.

I’m simple minded. The simplest of things excite, like say kite flying? I don’t need anything fancy or dangerous to excite me though it would be a plus points if it were the latter. A simple mind does not mean I have a simple brain. I often think a lot and ponder about things in life.

Let me talk a bit about my blog. It was first established in 2005. That year was the most crucial year for me as it was the deciding moment for me to whether still continue being a designer. I’m glad I stuck to it. Thank you God! The first domain I had was www.phunkiefresh.net which I lost due to some payment issue. The blog had a good run and it was nominated in the Nuffnang 2009 Asia-Pacific Blog Awards. I was a finalist in the best blog design category. It feels great to have such an event that recognizes my talent and not forgetting other local bloggers.

I then registered with a similar domain but with a different extension www.phunkiefresh.com. I have decided to use this domain as my portfolio as of 16 August 2010.

My future entries will be done in this current domain www.phunkiemunkie.com. I had a thing for monkeys in the past. No I’m not dirty sort alright! I had the domain name in mind since last year. I was only waiting for the right time to get it.

I hope you guys read my entries with an open mind as I would. Whatever that exist in this blog are subjective and sometimes cannot be believed entirely. I respect my reader’s mindset and thinking. I hope to share my less than exciting journey with you guys! =)
